So we have had Akilah for about a month or maybe a month and a half…. at the moment I don’t know and in all honesty I don’t care. I do know she has blended in quite well
with us, OK she has blended in well with everyone else but me. She puts up with me during the day. I am sure in her little dog brain she is thinking ” oh god why doesn’t she put a sock in it and leave me the hell alone?” Though is good with everyone I have noticed Cadden and her have connected in a way that’s special for them. Akilah and Cadden are just alike literally she is just a female dog version of him. I am not kidding. When one is in trouble usually the other is not far away. Example:
Yeah see the mess this was after Cadden decided he was going to take Kale plants we received from a mayday event out of their cups. You know because plants don’t need a cup. What did Akilah do .. she ate the plants.
Yes we have had many of these events take place. The famous one around here, when Cadden fed the dog a whole package of turkey. Yes I almost hung him upside down by his ankles… except the fact that it was illegal stopped me.
Even those these two get in trouble I would trade for anything in the world. You see Akilah has some how taught Cadden a few life lessons as follow:
Don’t fall asleep with food in your hand it will disappear
When you are annoying you will get sat on
Using puppy eyes gets you out of all trouble
Always have a watch out
And when you fail I will always be there to eat what ever food mistaken you have smeared on the floor.
She has also taught him when I pee you pee. Meaning I am walking with baby on my, back dog squats to pee seconds later my toddler is squatting on the ground trying to pee. The looks people have given me.
It not just my toddler who has benefited from this dog. Other than having to pick up and look at even more poop during my day, I can actually put Lyam on the floor with out having to worry he will some how end up peed on ( yes this has happened in my home don’t judge) or some how end up with toilet water poured on him aka toilet bowl baptizing. I get to enjoy a few more mins of peace and quiet before I am requested to walk someone or feed someone. Oh and the best trade off of having to pick up poop? EASY AFTER MEALS CLEAN UP!!! At the moment I am enjoying this dog and praying to god that Cadden enjoys her to and never gets bored with too and suckers me into getting him another type of pet. Yet at this point I am seeing nothing that will break apart this boy and his dog.
Oh and this pair also makes for some awesome photo ops:
